Sunday was a big night for NXT as NXT Heatwave aired live from Toronto. Ethan Page ended up capturing the NXT Championship in the main event, and after the match Joe Hendry’s face briefly appeared on the screen.
Fightful Select is reporting that there are plans to use Joe Hendry heavily as part of NXT’s crossover with Total Nonstop Action. WWE is reportedly looking to focus on Joe Hendry’s ability to go viral with the idea being that small teases will be enough.
The expectation is that there will be more blink and you’ll miss it style teases that will build up to Joe Hendry’s next appearance on NXT. When the question was asked if WWE would have any interest in signing Joe Hendry when his current contract expires the response was “who wouldn’t?”
It was also noted that even though the image of Joe Hendry did briefly appear at the end of NXT Heatwave he was not in Toronto for the show. Are you looking forward to seeing more Joe Hendry appearances in NXT? Sound off in the comments below.
