Back in April Zack Ryder was released from WWE, and he recently debuted in AEW as Matt Cardona on Dynamite earlier this week.
Wrestling Inc. reports that Matt Cardona is currently working on a five appearance deal with All Elite Wrestling. It’s being said while his status could change in the future, he’s currently on a short term deal.
During his appearance on AEW Dynamite this week Cardona made the save for Cody Rhodes as Cody was getting attacked by The Dark Order.
Matt Cardona is currently set to team with Cody Rhodes to face John Silver and Alex Reynolds.
During a recent interview with ESPN Cody was asked about signing Cardona and possibly Rusev, and he had the following response:
“Those are two great free agents. I’m not going to go as far to say that if I had to sign anybody, those would be the two that I would sign. But I think they’re great free agents. I think if they have the passion for pro wrestling, they’re going to continue to succeed.”
