Renee Young recently confirmed that she tested positive for COVID-19, and AEW later announced that Jon Moxley had been pulled from an episode of Dynamite as a precautionary measure.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Moxley has been tested twice for COVID-19, and he tested negative both times. A third COVID-19 test for Jon Moxley is scheduled to take place before the end of the week.
Jon Moxley’s first test was conducted at the same time as Renee Young’s positive test. His second test was done earlier this week prior to TV on Wednesday.
Originally Jon was set to defend his AEW World Championship against Brian Cage at Fyter Fest, but it was announced this week that the match has been pushed back to Fight For The Fallen on July 15.
Delaying the match with Brian Cage was reportedly Moxley’s call. Even though the second test came back negative, Jon Moxley was said to be adamant that he stay away from AEW longer as a precaution.
After learning of Renee Young’s positive test Mox made the call to not go to a hotel, or to leave Nevada, because he wanted to be with Renee in case her condition got worse.
Jon Moxley and Renee Young are reportedly keeping their distance from one another by isolating in different parts of the house.
