Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38, and he recently defended his title last week against Riddle on SmackDown. Luckily for Roman he picked up the win over Riddle, but shortly after the match Brock Lesnar made his surprise return and confronted The Tribal Chief.
Fightful Select reports that internally the title is officially recognized as the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, the two different titles that make up the championship are still recognized individually.
Even though the titles are currently unified it seems that they could be split up at some point again in the future since they’re still recognized as two different belts, although it’s not clear when that could happen.
Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam on Saturday, July 30th. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
