Goldberg made his return to WWE back in 2016, and since then the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion has been making appearances here and there. Goldberg last wrestled when he defeated Bobby Lashley at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in October, but it doesn’t sound like his deal with WWE is done just yet.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Goldberg only has one match left on his WWE deal, and that his deal is for “huge money” for only a couple of matches a year. It was also noted that it wouldn’t make sense for AEW to sign Goldberg when his WWE deal is up because the company doesn’t have the Saudi Arabia money that WWE gets which carries his deal.
Bill Goldberg is set to turn 55 soon so it’s not known if WWE feels that they’ve gotten all of the nostalgia they can out of him, or if they will try to sign him to a new deal. It was also noted that WWE doesn’t have a lot of special attractions at the moment with the exception of Goldberg, Edge and Lesnar because The Undertaker is retired, and Triple H likely won’t be wrestling anymore.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
