Edge made his big return to WWE in 2020 and since then the Rated R Superstar has been able to add a new chapter to his career. However, it’s been a little while since fans have seen Edge on WWE programming.
Fightful Select reports that Edge’s deal with WWE is for limited dates which is why he hasn’t made many appearances since he split from The Judgment Day. A WWE higher up noted that the vignettes that aired over the summer to promote Edge’s return were made to “buy some weeks” and give Edge a little more time to build up his matches with Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
Back in 2020 it was reported that Edge signed a 3 year deal for 25 appearances and 5 matches per year. It was noted that the details were either incorrect, or his deal was amended as Edge wrestled 10 matches in 2021 and 6 matches so far in 2022.
If the information regarding the length of Edge’s contract is indeed correct then his deal could be up soon, but it’s not known at this point in time if WWE ended up freezing the the deal because Edge missed time due to injury.
