WWE made history on Monday night as Raw made the jump from the USA Network to Netflix. Now that WWE is on Netflix the company has an opportunity to expand their audience and it seems that the partnership is off to a good start.
PWInsider is reporting that the early word on the Netflix numbers for the WWE Raw premiere is that they are great, but Netflix is still getting the numbers together.
It’s being said that there’s a lot of excitement in WWE and Netflix circles regarding the numbers. As of this writing WWE Raw is currently listed at number one on the list of top ten shows on Netflix.
It was noted that the Raw debut was designed to be an infomercial to introduce new viewers to the world of WWE more than anything else. The formula of using old names such as The Rock and The Undertaker was a way to give current talent the rub for viewers who know the stars of the past, but aren’t in tune with the week to week stories that are featured on modern WWE programming.
After the WWE Raw premiere went off the air the coverage continued with the Raw post-show. Joe Tessitore, Big E and Wade Barrett were all praised internally for the work they did on the broadcast.
