WWE recently announced that co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson parted ways with the company, and no replacements were announced.
No reason was given for their departures other than there was a disagreement regarding the future of the company.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wilson and Barrios were looking to maximize WWE’s current profits to get the stock price up.
However, Vince McMahon was looking to use the money from the new TV deals to increase profits, and to heavily invest in and spend big money to sign, keep and stockpile talent in order to make sure they don’t leave
Vince was also looking to create new regional offshoots in an attempt to dominate the grassroots aspect of the market, similar to NXT UK, in order to regain a monopoly on the market that is seemingly slipping away with brands like AEW and NJPW growing in popularity.
