This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live featured a surprise appearance from Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman challenged Kofi Kingston to a WWE Title match on Lesnar’s behalf.
The challenge has been accepted and now Kofi Kingston is set to defend his WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar when SmackDown moves to Friday nights on FOX on October 4.
According to John Pollock, the title match was something that had “been in the works for a long time.”
Pollock also noted that the WWE Title match will be Brock Lesnar’s first match on WWE television since March 2004.
