The Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year, and on Saturday night the annual event took place from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis.
Leading up to the show it was reported that the men’s Royal Rumble alone was changed “20 times” and many spots were changed and discarded. PWInsider is now reporting that they’ve heard from a number of different sources in the company who were frustrated with the constant changes, and felt that they caused the Royal Rumble matches to lack quality.
Changes were made to the eliminations, order of entrances and interactions between talents in the men’s match and that was reportedly the case for the women’s match as well. All of the changes led to frustration and it’s being said that it call came down from Vince McMahon.
Morale was reportedly very down following the Royal Rumble compared to most WWE PPVs with one talent saying, “We were all in a whirlwind. Just as you had your role and spots down, everything started over and over and now most of us were back to square one. It changed again and again and again. It wasn’t an easy night even before we hit the ring.”
