Recently there’s been a lot of talk about Warner Bros. Discovery making changes and how AEW could possibly be affected in the future. Fightful Select reports that a source inside Warner Bros. Discovery noted AEW “makes no negative waves” and holds up their end of the deal quite well when it comes to ratings.
It’s being said that both sides were pleased with the recent House of the Dragon and Shark Week integrations on AEW programming this summer. Those are thought of as two of the most important propertied for WBD, and there was a high level of trust when it came to AEW handling them.
It’s also being reported that there’s no truth to rumors of WBD cutting AEW Dynamite down to one hour. The two sides do not have an adversarial relationship as they meet frequently to discuss AEW programming.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that WBD wanted AEW to tone down the language on AEW programming. AEW told Fightful that they believe this was taken out of context as talent were told during a recent meeting that they could get heat with the network if they “fly too close to the sun” with promos, but this was not an official edict from the network.
