This week on Monday Night Raw Paul Heyman returned to TV and he issued a challenge to Bill Goldberg on behalf of his client Brock Lesnar. Next week Goldberg will appear live on WWE programming for the first time since 2004, and he will answer the challenge. It’s been rumored for weeks now that he and Brock Lesnar are set to face off at Survivor Series, and it’s expected that the match will be made official soon.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the former WCW World Champion’s deal with WWE was put together over the last couple of weeks and it was finalized just over one week ago. As of right now the plan is for Goldberg to work just one match, but that could always change depending on the crowd reaction.
Both Brock Lesnar and Goldberg have been vital to the marketing campaign for WWE 2K17, which was released this week. Survivor Series will take place on November 20, right before Black Friday, and the timing of the match is meant to boost sales for the game.
Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg have been heavily promoting WWE 2K17 while teasing a possible match between the two stars. Once the match is confirmed, fans should expect to see even more promotion for the game as we get closer to Survivor Series.
