Dean Ambrose’s Injury Affected Big Royal Rumble And WrestleMania Plans

Dean Ambrose’s injury was ill-timed and awful to hear about. He will be out around nine months by WWE’s word and although they could be embellishing that timeframe it could very well turn out being that long. After all, WWE isn’t ballet and an injury needs to be fully healed and tested before someone can just jump back in the ring and start pulling off suicide dives again.

Bryan Alvarez recently opened up about Dean Ambrose’s injury on Wrestling Observer Live where he went into some detail about how WWE is covering up for Dean Ambrose’s absence.

“God bless the guy, he’s worked more dates in the entire company for a couple years now,” Alvarez said. “He did more matches than anybody but the body, no matter how slow and soft you work — I mean the human body can only take so much and unfortuantely, finally he tore his triceps tendon and now he’s gonna be out for nine months.”

“And they had changed Royal Rumble plans, obviously they change plans all the time, well there was an idea for the Royal Rumble in a very prominent position. I know Dave [Meltzer] there were plans for WrestleMania that involved him in a fairly prominent position. Now he’s out of action. So, that sucks for him but hey, sometimes you just need a break.”

Dean Ambrose did need a break, but I’m sure he would have been much happier to take one where he didn’t have to rehab an injury. But pro wrestling is Dean Ambrose’s life and I’m sure he’ll come back with a new intensity, whenever that might be.

I would just like to know what kind of plans WWE is having to scrap now that Dean Ambrose is injured. We might have already seen the early phases of those changes with Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan picking up the Raw Tag Team Titles. So who knows what other twists we might see along the way as we head down the Road To WrestleMania?
