WrestleMania season is in full swing right now and there are a lot of rumors going around out there. Some recent rumors suggest that Brock Lesnar will be doing something with The Wyatt Family at WrestleMania 32 and it’s also been hinted at on WWE programming. While a match between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt or any member of The Wyatt Family would be fun to watch, would it really be the right move?
The question must be asked, what would Bray Wyatt really gain from a match with Brock Lesnar? It’s highly unlikely that he would win and a victory over Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman or any member of The Wyatt Family doesn’t do all that much for Brock Lesnar either. Bray and The Wyatt Family chase Brock, Brock defeats them at Mania, Brock goes away for a while and then it’s all forgotten about.
What Bray Wyatt really needs is a win at WrestleMania. Wyatt was built up to be a big deal leading up to his WrestleMania 30 match with John Cena, but then he lost. Things didn’t get much better for him from there and by the time he made it to WrestleMania 31 for his match against The Undertaker he no longer looked like a credible threat. Bray Wyatt is already a star and most people are already sold on him. WWE just needs to build him back up again and a match with Brock Lesnar probably isn’t going to do that.
So who then should Brock Lesnar face at WrestleMania 32? The Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose is a looking like a pretty good choice right about now. During their most recent interactions on Raw Ambrose and Lesnar have displayed a unique chemistry that could be used to make them both look good at WrestleMania. We’re going to get a chance to see a preview of how they work in the ring together at Fastlane and there’s going to be a lot of room to expand from there.
Dean Ambrose calling out Brock Lesnar makes for entertaining TV because, well, who the hell calls out Brock Lesnar? It takes a lot of guts to call out The Beast and it makes for a good laugh when Dean Ambrose gets his ass kicked. But sooner or later Dean Ambrose is going to have to do something to even the odds.
There’s no limit to how low Dean Ambrose will go when trying to take out The Beast. So far Brock Lesnar has done nothing but laugh at Dean Ambrose. If Dean Ambrose could find a way to get under Brock’s skin and turn his laughter to rage that’s where things could really get good. Drive Brock Lesnar to a point where he becomes obsessed with destroying Dean Ambrose, and then let him.
Brock Lesnar is known for taking his opponents to Suplex City and Dean Ambrose has already asked Brock to take him there. Ambrose is a guy that you want to see get beat up by Brock Lesnar, because he’s crazy and he’s begging for it. Seeing Brock Lesnar destroy people is always entertaining. But watching Brock Lesnar destroy Dean Ambrose would take things to a different place because you’re convinced that Ambrose would get some sort of sick enjoyment out of it.
Having Dean Ambrose get back up again and again after repeatedly taking a trip to Suplex City would get people invested in his quest to battle The Beast. Ambrose knows how to take a beating while still looking tough. This is the type of match where he wouldn’t even need to get much, if any offense in. All he would have to do is continue to kick out and continue to taunt Brock Lesnar after he does.
Dean Ambrose begging for another F5 after being hit with two already is the type of thing that would get a big reaction from the crowd. It also helps that Dean Ambrose is skilled in the art of over the top facial expressions because they would fit perfectly in a match like this. Ambrose is a character unlike any other Brock has ever faced and this match could be one to remember if done right. Brock Lesnar eventually gets the win, walks away victorious and Dean Ambrose gets to put on a performance that will get people talking. Everybody wins.
Brock Lesnar is likely going to win his match at WrestleMania regardless of who he faces. Lesnar is a big investment for WWE. He’s a big name and in order to keep the value around his name he needs to continue to win and that’s fine. Dean Ambrose just so happens to be a guy that could get himself over big time be getting beat up by Brock Lesnar.
