Dean Ambrose has been announced to star in a movie that will be produced by WWE Studios and Lionsgate.
It was announced back in May that WWE Studios and Lionsgate were joining forces for a “six-pack” of films. The first, Vendetta, stars Big Show and it has been confirmed that the second will feature Ambrose and be called Lockdown.
Ambrose will headline the film, to be directed by Stephen Reynolds, who was behind Tomb Raider: Ascension. Production starts this month, which should result in Ambrose taken time off from the road.
Written by Nathan Brooks and Bobby Lee Darby (See No Evil 2), Lockdown follows a police officer who finds himself trapped inside his own precinct and hunted after crooked cops stop at nothing to recover incriminating evidence of illegal activities against those closest to him.
“Lockdown will continue to energize and excite with the high level of adrenaline our fans have come to expect from our films,” said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi.
