Dean Ambrose defended his WWE Championship against Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw this week and the match ended after the referee counted the pin with both men’s shoulders on the mat. Stephanie McMahon awarded the title to Seth Rollins but the belt was later given back to Dean Ambrose it was decided that the match had ended in a draw.
Shane McMahon announced on Tuesday that a rematch would be taking place on SmackDown and Dean Ambrose would once again be defending against Seth Rollins in the main event.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins put on another action packed match with several close calls, but it was Dean Ambrose who walked away with the WWE Championship.
The end came when Seth Rollins went for a superplex from the top rope and he hit it when rolled through. It looked like he was going to hit Dean Ambrose with another suplex but Ambrose reversed it into Dirty Deeds and then pinned Seth Rollins to retain.
After the match Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan ran to the ring to celebrate with Dean Ambrose as Ambrose put on a SmackDown shirt and the crowd chanted “YES!”
