Dean Ambrose Retains The WWE Championship At Battleground

There was a lot of hype leading up to the main event of WWE Battleground and the WWE Championship match did not disappoint. Dean Ambrose put his title on the line against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins and it was Ambrose who walked out with the gold.

At one point Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins teamed up to beat down Roman Reigns. Everyone ended up on the outside and Ambrose and Rollins cleared off one of the announce tables then they hit Roman Reigns with a double powerbomb through the table.

Rollins quickly turned on Ambrose and hit him in the back with a steel chair. He then hit Reigns in the back with the steel chair as a call back to the original Shield break up. Ambrose and Rollins then went back into the ring and the action picked up with several false finishes. Roman Reigns eventually made his way back into the ring and tried to put Rollins away with a powerbomb but he kicked out.

The end came when Seth Rollins hit Roman Reigns with a powerbomb into the corner then Reigns countered with a Superman Punch and a spear. Dean Ambrose then made his way into the ring and hit Roman Reigns with Dirty Deeds to retain the title.

After the match the SmackDown roster came out the celebrate with Dean Ambrose.
