Dean Ambrose Is The New WWE Intercontinental Champion

Dean Ambrose challenged The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, and he started off the new year right with a big title win.

Near the end of the match Maryse slapped Dean Ambrose outside the ring, and the referee was about to call for the bell. Ambrose insisted that he throw Maryse out instead, and the referee agreed. While the referee was distracted, The Miz hit Dean Ambrose with the Intercontinental Championship in the back of the head, but Dean kicked out.

Dean then managed to hit The Miz with Dirty Deeds to put him away and win the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown Live. Ambrose is now a two time WWE Intercontinental Champion.

A few weeks ago on SmackDown Live The Miz called Renee Young out for sleeping with Dean , so she responded by slapping him. Since then The Miz and Maryse have been taunting Renee Young, and at the beginning of this week’s show The Miz demanded an apology from Renee. When he didn’t get it Maryse tracked her down backstage and greeted her with a slap to the face.

Things didn’t go so well for Renee Young on SmackDown this week, but Dean Ambrose redeemed her in the main event. However, The Miz is still owed a rematch, so we’ll have to wait and see who gets the last laugh.
