Dean Ambrose’s injury came at a horrible time seeing how the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania are right around the corner. But it turns out we actually got way more out of Ambrose than we could have initially.
WWE does take care of their workers but sometimes an injury needs to be worked through in order to make things fit together. Ambrose was able to stick it out until this week’s Raw and it looks like WWE arranged the spot where Samoa Joe smashed his arm with a piece of production equipment for a reason.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dean Ambrose’s injury might have actually been sustained at TLC when he took a bump off a table that didn’t break. He has been holding his arm for quite some time now and by the sounds of it, he gutted through the pain until recently.
It is also noted that WWE thought the problem was in Ambrose’s elbow but when Dr. Dugas got in to do some investigating he found that The Lunatic Fringe had 50% of his tendon torn off the bone in his triceps which is not a good thing. But the news could be worse because if the tendon was fully torn away then recovery time could be around half a year. Since Ambrose’s injury is only about 50% of a full tear, then the recovery time should be less. But there is still no real timetable for his return.
But in the meantime, Jason Jordan will be moved up the card for Raw house shows and replace Dean Ambrose. This is a good sign for JJ because WWE thinks he can handle that kind of spot on the show. But it’s still not good news for Dean Ambrose because even if his recovery time is three months he’ll still be cutting it very close to jumping into a storyline on the Road To WrestleMania.
