John Cena officially kicked off his retirement tour earlier this year and there’s been a lot of talk about his last match throughout 2025. WWE has now issued a press release confirming that John Cena’s retirement match will be featured on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th.
The press release also confirmed that WWE has signed a multi-year partnership that will see Saturday Night’s Main Event stream exclusively on Peacock. Two more Saturday Night’s Main Event specials are planned for 2025 with a November 1st date scheduled in addition to the show on December 13th.
The WWE Network library will remain on Peacock through 2025, and NXT premium live events will stream on Peacock through March of 2026. The SmackDown library will remain on Peacock throughout the term of the partnership on a 30 day delay.
“We’re excited to bring Saturday Night’s Main Event exclusively to Peacock beginning this fall,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “NBCU have been terrific longtime partners, and we look forward to continuing to work with them for years to come.”
As of this writing WWE has not confirmed the location for John Cena’s retirement match, but it has long been rumored that it will take place in Boston. There’s also been a lot of speculation regarding Cena’s final opponent as Cena has insisted that he will not be choosing the opponent for his last match.
