Darby Allin has been one of the stars to watch ever since he arrived in AEW, and he managed to win gold last year when he defeated Cody Rhodes at the Full Gear pay-per-view and became TNT Champion.
Over the weekend at New York Comic Con Darby Allin talked about his TNT Championship reign, and he made it clear that right now he cares more about winning the TNT Title again than he does about chasing the AEW World Championship.
“Out of all of those matches, I can say it was probably the one I lost to Miro. It was lots of fun, but it was during the pandemic, I was having the best matches of my career and long story short, I’d like to run that shit back in front of a live crowd.
We’ll continue to show everybody why that championship is the most important championship in AEW. Everyone is like, ‘I can’t wait until you become World Heavyweight Champion’. I don’t give a s**t about that. Give me that TNT Championship.”
Sammy Guevara recently defeated Miro to become the new TNT Champion on the September 29 episode of Dynamite. Darby Allin is currently involved in a feud with MJF, but it will be interesting to see if he does get back into the TNT Title picture again at some point.
