Jim Ross is pretty open about sharing his opinions on his Grilling JR podcast, but it looks like he ruffled some feathers when the Hall of Famer criticized a certain spot involving wrestlers huddling on the outside of the ring as they prepare to catch someone.
“All you guys go outside, you cluster up like coils, you stand there in a huddle, friends and foes together, side-by-side, so you can catch some leaping idiot going over the top who never wins with this move. They are looking for the ‘holy s**t’ chant. They love to hear, ‘this is awesome’. It’s a spot, folks. It’s a trapeze act. I don’t buy into that.”
The comment became a topic of discussion throughout the wrestling community, and Brandon Cutler referenced the remark when he posted the following on Twitter:
THIS WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite
7 vs 7
We’re gonna go outside, cluster up like coils, stand there in a huddle, friends and foes together, side-by-side to catch some leaping idiot going over the top.

Dax Harwood of FTR also got in on the conversation and seemingly defended JR’s right to state his opinion.
Imagine not listening to criticism from the men & women who’ve shaped our profession, and paved a road that allows you to make a living today; all because they hurt your feelings.

Current TNT Champion Darby Allin was asked to share his opinion on JR’s comments during a recent interview with Sportskeeda, and he showed nothing but support for Ross.
“I love Jim Ross and I agree with him.”
