Daniel Bryan has been a hot topic as of late thanks to an interesting segment that took place on last week’s episode of Talking Smack.
Bryan called The Miz a coward, then The Miz freaked out and cut an intense promo before Bryan walked off the set. The Miz called Daniel Bryan a coward for not returning to the ring when he promised the fans he would be back. Bryan told Miz that if WWE would let him return, he would.
The promo got a lot of people talking, and one of the things that people were talking about was a potential return to the ring for Daniel Bryan. In the midst of the all the hype, Forbes published an article claiming that WWE has not entirely closed the door on a possible in-ring return for Daniel Bryan.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the Forbes article is incorrect, and that WWE has no plans for Bryan to return to the ring. Part of the reason why they don’t want him to return has to do with the multi-million dollar concussion lawsuit that WWE is currently dealing with.
Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract is set to expire in 2018, so if he wants to wrestle elsewhere he will have to wait. His contract was previously frozen when he was out of action due to injury, but it’s no longer frozen now that he’s appearing on TV.
Bryan recently spoke to ESPN about his thoughts on a potential return to the ring and you can get more on that here.
