Daniel Bryan recently spoke to the New Paper in Singapore while doing promotional work for WWE. During the interview he indicated that his WWE career could be over.
When speaking about his injury he said the following:
“I think it could be the end of my career in WWE, but I don’t think it will be the end of my career. I could find another passion, but it would just be sad because this is what I have been most passionate about since I was five.”
Although Daniel Bryan has said that he’s been cleared by a reputable doctor who has worked the Super Bowl for the NFL, he has yet to be cleared by WWE. It’s worth noting that a few months ago IGN asked Daniel Bryan if he would return to the indies if WWE won’t clear him and he said the following:
“John Cena and I actually had this discussion. He said, ‘if something were to happen to you and the WWE, would you go back to doing the indies?’ Absolutely!”
Unfortunately there’s no way to know how this is going to play out until WWE makes the call. We’ll just have to wait and see.
