The WWE Championship is currently on SmackDown which is why Raw COO Stephanie McMahon and Raw GM Mick Foley created the WWE Universal Championship.
SmackDown may have the WWE Championship, but it’s still missing a Women’s Championship and tag team belts.
According to SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan, SmackDown will be getting a Women’s Championship belt. Bryan appeared on the Bear Hug It Out podcast and shared the news.
Bryan was talking about how the Universal Championship was created for Raw and he said that SmackDown will have a Women’s Title, but they’re taking their time because they want to do it right.
F4Wonline.com is also reporting that WWE has plans to introduce a Women’s Title and tag team beltshttp://www.f4wonline.com on the SmackDown brand and that the word is that they won’t be introduced until after SummerSlam.
