Here we are, it’s Sunday, Hell in a Cell is tonight and John Cena is holding a US Open Challenge at the pay-per-view. We expected there to be some rumors regarding challengers but things have gotten downright crazy. There are quite a few names who could be answering John Cena’s challenge tonight so let’s take a look at the list.
Daniel Bryan
First of all, Daniel Bryan has been saying for a while now that he’s been cleared to compete by a reputable doctor who worked at the NFL’s Super Bowl but WWE won’t clear him to return. According to reporter Scott Keith who first broke the news that John Cena was taking time off after Hell in a Cell, Daniel Bryan got on a plane to head to Los Angeles today.
Keith claims he received an e-mail from a sender acting as if they didn’t know who Daniel Bryan is and that Bryan is heading to LA. Bryan apparently revealed to the reader that he had been cleared from a concussion and that he would be returning to work this weekend
So there you go, that’s rumor number 1.
Samoa Joe
F4WOnline.com is reporting that there is no official confirmation regarding challengers for John Cena tonight but that Samoa Joe is heavily rumored to answer the challenge. It was noted that Samoa Joe was in Sacramento for the Aftershock festival so it wouldn’t take him long to get there.
That’s rumor number 2.
Tyler Breeze
Tyler Breeze is another name that’s been rumored to answer John Cena’s US Open Challenge. Breeze made his big debut during last week’s episode of SmackDown and started a feud with Dolph Ziggler. It’s rumored that Breeze might answer the challenge and possibly win the title as a way to further his feud with Dolph Ziggler.
That’s rumor number 3.
Sheamus
Current Money in the Bank contract holder Sheamus is another name that’s come up when talking about potential challengers. The reason that Sheamus has had his name thrown into the mix is because John Cena is scheduled to face Sheamus during his return match at Madison Square Garden on December 26th and it’s being advertised as a US Title match.
That’s rumor number 4.
James Storm
James Storm is another name that’s been thrown into the rumor mill because he’s taking a first class flight somewhere and teasing the WWE Network’s $9.99 price point.
