Sunday night was a huge night for Kurt Angle, because WWE finally let him return to the ring. Angle became an honorary member of The Shield for one night only, and he helped his team pick up a victory when they faced off against The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman and Kane in the main event.

When Kurt Angle returned to WWE earlier this year, he made it clear that he wanted to wrestle again, but it didn’t seem that WWE had any plans to let him get back in the ring. SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan has been hoping that WWE will clear him to return to action someday, but at this point it seems unlikely that it will ever happen. However, Bryan seems even more hopeful after watching Kurt’s return, as he posted the following:
There was a time when WWE wouldn’t let @RealKurtAngle compete. Tonight he won a PPV main event in a TLC match 👏👏👏 #SoYourSayingTheresAChance
