It’s been years since CM Punk has wrestled a match inside a WWE ring, but Punk is still a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling.
Clearly CM Punk left his mark on the wrestling community, and for years he told fans that he was the Best in the World. Throughout his career Punk clashed with Daniel Bryan a number of times, and Bryan is currently trying to earn himself a shot at Roman Reigns’ Universal Title.
Reigns is currently set to defend the belt against Edge at WrestleMania 37, and during Talking Smack Daniel Bryan criticized the two stars.
“You have two guys in the main event of WrestleMania who have wrestled a total of three matches this year. In the last eight days, I have wrestled more matches than the two of those men combined. On Sunday, I sat on the ground while two men — who’ve wrestled only three matches this year – are going to main event WrestleMania. I failed myself. So, if you wanna ask how it felt to win the Elimination Chamber for the third time, it didn’t feel good.”
During the promo Bryan also noted that he’s been putting himself on the back burner while trying to push other talents, and he also name dropped CM Punk.
“I have a message for you to give to Roman Reigns. I am no longer putting myself on the back burner. I am no longer putting other people first. I am going to take what’s mine. And that’s the reign that I’ve had — before CM Punk — and that’s the best damn wrestler in the world.”
Daniel Bryan will face off against Jey Uso in a steel cage match on SmackDown next week, and if Bryan wins he will go on to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at Fastlane.
