Damian Priest Cashes In Money In The Bank At WWE WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania 40 kicked off on Saturday with night one and Seth Rollins teamed up with Cody Rhodes to face The Rock & Roman Reigns in the main event. Seth & Cody battled The Rock & Roman for nearly forty five minutes, but in the end it was Rock & Roman who picked up the victory to ensure that Roman’s title match with Cody will be contested under Bloodline rules.

Seth Rollins put on quite the performance on Saturday night, but he had little time to rest as he defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre in the opening match on WrestleMania Sunday. Both men got big entrances with a band playing bagpipes for Drew McIntyre and the Philadelphia Mummers String Band playing Seth’s music before he came out.

Drew McIntyre hit Seth Rollins with a Claymore as soon as the bell rang, but Seth kicked out at two. Rollins then rolled out of the ring as McIntyre was getting ready for another Claymore. McIntyre then proceeded to beat down Seth Rollins at ringside as he talked trash to CM Punk who was on commentary. Rollins hit Drew McIntyre with a Pedigree on the floor while Drew was distracted then Rollins started selling a knee injury.

At one point Drew went for the Claymore again inside the ring only for Rollins to reverse it into a Pedigree. Seth then followed up with the Stomp right after. However, Drew kicked out at two.

Drew hit the Future Shock DDT then looked at CM Punk and called for the GTS. McIntyre went for the GTS which was reversed into a roll up by Seth. The Scottish Warrior kicked out then hit a Claymore, but Seth kicked out of the Claymore again.

They battled on the outside and Drew tried to powerbomb Rollins through the announce table. Rollins got out of it and ended up hitting the Stomp on Drew on top of the announce table instead. When they got back in the ring Drew hit another Claymore for a two count. Drew McIntyre then hit the Claymore one more time to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

After the match Drew McIntyre brought the belt to the announce table and talked trash to CM Punk. He told CM Punk that he’s going to end his career and that it’s his moment. Drew then put the belt in Punk’s face and told the camera man to get the shot. CM Punk grabbed McIntyre’s leg and pulled it so Drew fell on the announce table. Punk then took the brace off his arm and hit McIntyre with it. He continued to beat McIntyre down then Damian Priest came out to cash in.

Damian Priest hit McIntyre in the head with the briefcase. He threw Drew in the ring then hit South of Heaven to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Priest celebrated at the top with of the ramp with The Judgment Day as Drew sulked in the ring while CM Punk looked on and laughed.
