Damian Priest defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank earlier this month, and the match gave fans plenty to talk about.
Priest was able to successfully defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in match that became a triple threat after Drew McIntyre cashed in Money in the Bank. Shortly before Drew cashed in Seth Rollins hit Damian Priest with a Falcon Arrow, and the referee did not count to three after Damian failed to kick out at two.
During a recent interview with the New York Post, Damian Priest addressed the situation and stated that it wasn’t a case of him forgetting that he needed to kick out.
“The idea that I forgot to kick out, that’s not a thing. That’s not a thing. We don’t forget to kick out. Twenty years in, I’m pretty sure there is some kind of muscle memory there. So me forgetting was not the case. There was nothing outside that was supposed to happen. It was a matter of there was a situation, but I’m OK. Everybody’s fine, the story continues.”
Damian Priest will be in action at SummerSlam as he’s currently set to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against King of the Ring winner Gunter.
