D-Von Dudley recently spoke to NOLA.com to promote the Royal Rumble and more. During the interview he talked a little bit about the current state of tag team wrestling and he talked about what it’s like to work with The New Day.
“We definitely have our sights on New Day,” D-Von said. “They’re a great bunch of guys, extremely talented, funny as hell. When we’re in the ring with New Day, it reminds us of Edge and Christian. Not only are they funny and talented, but they can go. That combination, all three of them put together, is really, really good.”
When asked about his favorite all time tag teams D-Von once again praised the New Day.
“Past, Legion of Doom and the British Bulldogs. Present, New Day and the Usos. I see those two tag teams reinventing themselves into the Hardys, Edge and Christian. I can see us being that team that can be with these guys and create that magic, that history over again.”
He was also asked about the iconic 3D finishing move that The Dudley Boyz use and if he thought it would become as legendary as it is today.
“No. We looked at it as, we needed a tag team finisher. We came up with it, didn’t realize how good it really was until we started hitting people with it and the way the crowd would react to it. It wasn’t us that said it was one of the greatest tag team maneuvers, it was the fans. Once they started saying that, it was history from there.”
