Over the years fans have seen a number of wrestlers change their names. When Mia Yim returned to WWE in 2022, she changed her name to Michin, and she’s been using the name on WWE programming ever since.
During a recent appearance on The Wrestling Classic, Michin explained that she ended up changing her name because it was something that was suggested when she joined The OC.
“When I came back and joined them, they [The O.C.] said, ‘You need a nickname; that’s just part of the crew.’ Michin is something I’ve had since I was a kid, from my mom. She would call me and my sister crazy, obviously. So to me, it was my choice picking this name.”
The WWE star went on to explain that Michin is a nickname she’s had for a long time as it was her mom’s way of calling her and her sister “crazy,” so the name is special to her.
Recently Michin competed in the WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament and she made it all the way to the finals. Unfortunately for Michin she didn’t win the belt as she was defeated by Chelsea Green in the finals.
