WWE has shaken up the title picture in a major way as Drew McIntyre defeated Cody Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion earlier this month. Originally it was reported that WWE had been planning for another Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 42, but those plans appear to have been thrown out.

Bodyslam is reporting that Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre were both in favor of the title changing hands and giving them a new direction heading into the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. It’s being said that while many believed Drew McIntyre would be a transitional champion that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Sources have indicated that Drew McIntyre is expected to walk into WrestleMania 42 as the Undisputed WWE Champion. As of right now Drew will likely be facing Cody Rhodes in a rematch on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre have been feuding since August with Cody maintaining the upper hand throughout most of their feud. However, the tables have turned as Drew announced last week that there was a no rematch clause in the contract for their most recent title match, which means Cody will have to work his way up from the bottom.

The American Nightmare recently confirmed that he will be entering the 30 man Royal Rumble match next week. Only time will tell how a potential Drew vs. Cody rematch is set up for WrestleMania.

Stay tuned for updates.
