Over the last few years quite a few WWE stars have been released from the company and many of them have made their way to All Elite Wrestling. Ruby Soho has been part of the AEW roster for some time now, but it sounds like she was once considered for a title run in WWE.
During a recent episode of his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast Road Dogg discussed his time working as the lead writer for SmackDown, and he noted that he wanted to put the SmackDown Women’s Title on Ruby Soho who was known as Ruby Riott at the time.
“Ruby Riott had SmackDown Women’s Champion written all over her with The Riott Squad behind her,” Road Dogg said. “That’s just where I wanted to go. I’m a huge fan of hers. I think she’s unique, she’s an individual, she’s great at wrestling, she’s got an indie fanbase that buzzes about her. I just thought there was no downside with Ruby Riott.”
Even though Ruby didn’t get the chance to win championship gold during her time in WWE she will have the opportunity to win a belt on Sunday when she faces Jamie Hayter and Saraya in a triple threat for the AEW Women’s Championship at Revolution. Stay tuned for updates.
