There’s a lot going on in WWE at the moment, but several of the company’s top stars are currently off TV. Drew McIntyre last appeared on WWE programming when he faced Sheamus and Gunther at WrestleMania 39, and there’s been no word on when he could be making his return.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that at this point Drew McIntyre’s return is basically a creative issue and a matter of what WWE wants, what Drew wants, and what the two sides can agree on.
Regarding Drew McIntyre’s potential departure when his contract expires it’s being said that WWE can freeze and extend his contract due to the time he’s been out of action if they choose to.
It’s also being reported that Drew McIntyre has not asked to leave the company even though the two sides have not come to terms on a new deal. There’s speculation that Drew could end up working as a heel when he returns to TV.
