Could Backstage Heat Be The Reason That Baron Corbin Cashed In His Contract Prematurely?

Baron Corbin was seen as the future of WWE a week ago, he was holding the Money In The Bank contract and many believed that he would cash it on on Sunday night at SummerSlam and that he would become WWE Champion.

Sadly, this wasn’t the case since The Lone Wolf decided to cash in his contract on SmackDown Live and become only the third man to do so and lose. Interestingly enough, John Cena has been involved in all three of those failed cash-in attempts.

Many fans have reacted negatively to the fact that Baron’s title shot was taken off him so easily but now the real reason for this seems to have surfaced.

Bryan Alvarez recently revealed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, that Corbin has a lot of backstage heat stemming from his recent social media activity, when he managed to get into an argument on Twitter with Dave Meltzer.

He is also said to have blocked a few WWE stars on Twitter as well, which isn’t exactly seen as polite, and it seems that many stars are angry that Corbin is doing things so publicly.

The real test to see how much heat Corbin truly has backstage will be this Sunday night when he goes one-on-one with John Cena, if the 16-time WWE World Champion makes light work of him, then it will confirm that his push is over. Many see this match as a test to see if Corbin can hold his own in a match against someone of Cena’s caliber, so it will be interesting to see what the outcome is.
