CM Punk set the wrestling world on fire when he opened up about his WWE departure on an episode of Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast back in 2014, but unfortunately Punk’s appearance on the show resulted in legal troubles for both Punk and Cabana.
WWE Dr. Chris Amann took Cabana and Punk to court and tried to sue them for the comments that Punk made on the podcast, but ultimately the jury ruled in CM Punk and Colt Cabana’s favor.
Now the Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Colt Cabana is suing CM Punk for breach of contract and fraud in Cook County Circuit Court.
According to Colt Cabana’s lawsuit, Punk promised to help him with the legal bills from the lawsuit, and Cabana is also claiming that Punk told him he would be “100% covered” in a text.
The lawsuit claims “Brooks acted with fraud, malice and oppression toward Colton, with the deliberate intention of causing Colton harm.”
The documents, which can be viewed below, also note that Punk asked Cabana to pay half of the legal fees, to the tune of $256,868, saying “You are on your own.”
