Cody Rhodes has been the talk of the wrestling world ever since he announced that he was parting ways with All Elite Wrestling, and since then there’s been a lot of speculation regarding a potential WWE return for the former TNT Champion.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the situation with Cody Rhodes and WWE took a major turn this week, and everything is up in the air. It’s also being reported that WWE had creative set up for Cody’s secret debut, and it’s also been confirmed that Cody’s WrestleMania 38 opponent would be Seth Rollins.
High level people in the company don’t know what has happened between Cody and WWE, but talks between the two sides are ongoing. The creative team believed it was a done deal and worked out key plans for Cody Rhodes to debut, and now the creative team is being told it’s not 100 percent that Cody will be coming in.
Creative had already worked on the Rhodes vs. Rollins feud, but they were told this week to hold off until Cody signs a contract. The belief from people in WWE is that Cody hasn’t signed yet because he’s angling for a better deal with the idea being that WWE wants everything it can get for WrestleMania.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
