Back in January, Drew McIntyre defeated Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. After Drew interfered in the main event at Elimination Chamber, Nick Aldis announced that the Scottish Warrior would be defending his title against Cody during this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The American Nightmare and The Scottish Warrior clashed in the main event on SmackDown, and it was Cody Rhodes who ended up winning the Undisputed WWE Championship for the third time in his career.

At one point during the match Cody and Drew were battling on the outside and Cody cleared off the announce table. Rhodes set McIntyre up for Cross Rhodes on the table, but it collapsed underneath both of them before he could hit the move.

Cody followed up by pulling a table out from underneath the ring and Drew set it up. Drew McInytre put Cody Rhodes through the table with a powerbomb then threw him back in the ring. Drew connected with a Cross Rhodes of his own on Cody, but Cody kicked out.

Drew tried for a Claymore, but Cody blocked it and hit the Claymore on Drew instead. Drew kicked out at two. Cody went for the Disaster Kick and Drew pulled the referee closer to him, so Cody hit the ref by accident.

Cody connected with Cross Rhodes while the referee was out. He called for another referee and Drew hit Cody with a Claymore as another ref was running down to the ring. Cody managed to kick out.

Drew got heated as he got in the referee’s face. He threw Cody Rhodes into the ring post then hit the referee with a Glasgow Kiss. As the second ref was down Drew grabbed a chair.

McIntyre attempted to hit Cody with the chair, but Jacob Fatu appeared and ripped it away. Cody tried for a roll up and Drew hit him with the Future Shock DDT. Drew ran at Cody as he went for the Claymore and Cody dodged it then followed up with a Cody Cutter from the top. Rhodes connected with the Cross Rhodes on Drew then pinned him to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Cody Rhodes will now go on to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania.
