Cody Rhodes was one of the key figures who helped to launch AEW in 2019 and in addition to being an on screen talent he also worked behind the scenes as an Executive Vice President. However, Cody Rhodes is once again part of the WWE roster and this week he picked up a win over Chad Gable on Monday Night Raw.
Back in 2021 it was reported by Dave Meltzer that friends of Chad Gable wanted him to sign with AEW as they thought the company would be a good fit for him. The WRKD Wrestling account reported ahead of Raw this week that Cody has been a fan of Gable and he was one of the AEW talents who wanted to bring him into the company.
