Cody Rhodes has been feuding with Kevin Owens for some time now, and earlier this month The American Nightmare defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against The Prizefighter at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In the end it was Cody Rhodes who walked out with the gold, but Kevin Owens took their feud to the next level after the match when he hit Cody with the package piledriver. Owens then stole the Winged Eagle title belt as Cody Rhodes was stretchered out of the arena.
Cody Rhodes has been laying low since then and WWE issued a statement claiming that the Undisputed WWE Champion was diagnosed with “axial compression of the cervical spine,” and a “cervical strain with spasm,” following the attack.
Recently Cody Rhodes made his first public appearance since Saturday Night’s Main Event when he met with fans at Brandi Rhodes’ yoga studio. Fans who met with Cody couldn’t help but notice that Rhodes sold the devastating impact of the package piledriver by wearing a neck brace.

At this point it’s not clear when Cody Rhodes will be returning to TV, but in his absence Kevin Owens has declared that he is the “true WWE Champion,” so it’s probably safe to say that Rhodes will be looking to settle his issues with KO sooner than later.
