Anticipation was at an all time high heading into WrestleMania 40 and Cody Rhodes finally finished the story when he defeated Roman Reigns in the main event to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Cody Rhodes managed to end Roman Reigns’ historic run with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and it looks like also set a new record over WrestleMania weekend as well.
Fightful Select reports that an internal memo was sent out to several people in WWE stating that between WWE World and WWE Shop, Cody Rhodes sold over $1 million dollars worth of merchandise throughout WrestleMania weekend. It was also noted that this broke Cody’s WrestleMania record that was set last year.
Cody Rhodes recently confirmed that he signed a new contract with WWE that extends beyond his 40th birthday. The American Nightmare is currently 38 and will turn 39 in June.
