Cody Rhodes returned to WWE back in 2022 when he stepped up to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38, and he’s been riding a wave of momentum ever since. The American Nightmare has become a two time WWE Champion and he’s also become one of the top stars on the roster.

Recently Cody Rhodes discussed his future with WWE on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike, and he confirmed that the next contract he signs with with the company will be his last.

“I don’t quite have an exact end date in mind like I used to, but I do know that whatever the next deal is that I sign with WWE, that next deal will be the last.

Wrestling’s so unique in terms of it’s hard to determine your time. Especially in 2026, with the level of athlete that you can grow to be.
Look at what Brock Lesnar is doing currently at this level, he’s in peak form. Roman, older, peak form. Punk, Punk is the best he’s ever been. So age is really not what it used to be in the industry.”

Cody has main evented every WrestleMania since WrestleMania 39, and he will have his chance to punch his ticket to the Show of Shows this weekend when he steps into the Elimination Chamber. Rhodes will be facing off against Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and LA Knight and the winner will go on to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
