Cody Rhodes recently parted ways with WWE and then he released a statement explaining that he had been actively pitching idea to drop Stardust and return as Cody Rhodes. Obviously things didn’t work out because Cody was still using the Stardust gimmick right before he left.
According to Cody he had been pitching ideas for 6 months and he recently revealed on Twitter that he had artist Ramon Villalabos draw up some sketches for him. The sketches showed off ideas for new ring gear that we unfortunately never got to see Cody wear.
Before he announced his WWE departure Rhodes was posting cryptic teasers on social media and it looked like he was teasing the end of Stardust. At one point he posted a picture from the locker room showing Stardust’s gear and another set of gear. The gear on the right appears to be the new ring gear that was designed by Ramon Villalobos.
No one seems to know exactly what Cody Rhodes is going to do next but in his statement he said that he’s a wrestler and he wants to continue wrestling. Perhaps we’ll see Cody Rhodes wear his new ring gear in ring that’s not owned by WWE sometime in the future.
