Cody Rhodes has been one of the top stars in professional wrestling for years now, and Roman Reigns has been one of his main rivals ever since he returned to WWE in 2022. Roman and Cody have traded a number of insults back and forth throughout their feud and at one point Roman Reigns called The American Nightmare a politician.
During a recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? Cody revealed his reaction to The Tribal Chief calling him a politician, and he explained why he’s not mad about it.
“Roman Reigns called me a politician one time, and I remember thinking, I’m not mad at that. I grew up in the business. Everyone is (a politician) to a degree. But to me, there’s politics, there’s posturing, and then there’s snaking and backstabbing.
I think a lot of guys in our modern roster are straight up. ‘This is what I think is better. This is what I think isn’t. Let’s talk about it.’ Someone’s making a decision, but the opinion has been weighed. Because you can smell when you get around the ones today that are like, ‘This is gonna be really good for you.’ And you can already tell, like, ‘No, it’s not. I can tell this isn’t even for me.’”
This year Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are on different paths heading into WrestleMania. Roman Reigns will be challenging CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship and Cody is set to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown this week.
