Cody Rhodes has been on a roll since returning to WWE and he picked up two big wins over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania and WrestleMania Backlash. Prior to his WWE return Cody was a key figure in AEW where he competed at the annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view. With the former TNT Champion now wrestling for a different organization this will be the first time that Cody won’t have a match on the Double or Nothing card.
One fan on Twitter pointed this out by saying that Double or Nothing won’t be the same without Cody or Kenny Omega. Cody responded and noted that he’s currently focused on his match with Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell, but he reiterated that he’s proud of his run with All Elite Wrestling.
“I’ve got my crosshairs on being inside Hell in a Cell, but I’m sure it’ll be just fine without me. I left a lot of love(and blood ha) imbued in that canvas. Very proud of that chapter.”
Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega also chimed in and noted that he will be there in spirit.
The AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view will air on Sunday, May 29th. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
