Cody Rhodes On Why He Doesn’t Believe In Midcard Titles

Last year AEW crowned the first ever AEW World Champion, AEW Women’s Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champions.

A few months ago the company introduced the TNT Championship, and Cody Rhodes became the inaugural champion when he defeated Lance Archer in the finals of a tournament at Double or Nothing.

Since then Cody has been trying to get eyes on the title by defending it in a weekly open challenge, and a fan recently asked on Twitter if the AEW World Championship should be more important than the TNT Championship.

Cody Rhodes responded and noted that the person carrying the belt defines the championship, not the other way around.

“Man/woman wearing any belt defines it, not the other way around.

I don’t believe in “Mid card” titles.”
