2022 was a big year for Cody Rhodes as he returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and he seemed to have a lot of momentum in the months that followed. Unfortunately Cody was taken out of action due to injury, and prior to his return over the weekend he had been sitting on the sidelines since June of last year.
Cody Rhodes put in a lot of hard work while he was training for his return, but there were also times when he doubted himself. During a recent interview with BT Sport the American Nightmare explained what Nick Khan and Bruce Prichard both checked in on him while he was out.
“You know, everyone has doubts, even the most confident people. ‘Maybe I didn’t have it.’ And I’ll tell you two people that kind of kept me in check were Nick Khan and Bruce Prichard. I don’t know why they’ve got reputations because, man, they’ve been nothing but angels to me. I mean, Nick Khan and Bruce both don’t see Dusty when they see me; they see me. That’s big, that’s big with me.”
Cody also commented on how the injury affected his career when he added, “I was at the top of my game. All the measurables that make you like, ‘Oh, this is working. We’re selling this. People are tuning in –- oh my gosh, I’m doing it. I’m doing it.’ And then I got hurt bench pressing at my gym, and probably a lot of wrestling was involved with that, but I didn’t know.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Cody Rhodes as they become available.
