In the weeks leading up to AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, CM Punk continuously shot down rumors that he would be appearing at the event, and when the show aired Punk was nowhere to be seen.
CM Punk seems to be one of the names that wrestling fans want to see in All Elite Wrestling, and AEW President Tony Khan even admitted that he put Punk on his wish-list when he was thinking of names for the roster.
Punk has given no indication that he wants to join AEW, but as we’ve seen in the past you can never say never in the wrestling business.
During a live Q&A session at Starrcast, Nick Jackson noted that he thinks CM Punk is done with professional wrestling, but Cody Rhodes said that the door is open for him to join the company.
“I would say what I would say to Punk, wrestling fans never gave up on CM Punk. It’s an unbelievable connection that he accrued for the fan base and himself. So I can say for that reason that the door remains open for CM Punk at all times.”
