AEW Dynamite officially premiered on Wednesday nights on TNT back in October of 2019, and the show has been going head to head with NXT since its inception.
It was recently confirmed that AEW and TNT have reached a deal that will see Dynamite air on the network through 2023, and a second show is also expected to be added to a network that is part of Turner Media.
During an appearance on 11Alive Cody Rhodes was asked where he sees AEW in five years, and he noted that he would be confident if the show moved to Monday nights.
“I would like the company, in five years, to be on a different night and competing in the same fashion they are. Not that I don’t love Wednesday nights, but I can tell we have real players and I look at this data. We’re not lying about the revolution anymore. It’s very supported. I would love to see how it does on another night of the week.”
“In five years, who knows. If we had a random storm situation or something popped up and we had to put Dynamite on a Monday night, if that was to happen in this current threshold, I’d still be very confident in what we can do. And I’d be confident that our guys would be up for the challenge.”
The WCW vs. WWE battle of the Monday Night Wars is now legendary in the world of professional wrestling.
As of right now it seems that there are no plans for AEW Dynamite to switch nights, but it sounds like the future could be very interesting for pro wrestling fans.
